This is a ritual or ceremony carried out to initiate a young man into adulthood. It is mainly carried out in Bugisu and Sebei land.

Benefits of curmcision include; Confidence building, Promotion of culture, Earning of respect, Earning of good reputation by oneself and family, Initiation into adulthood.

Uganda has over 50 tribes from 3 major groups namely Nilotics, Bantu and Sudanic groups with about 40 languages.

From the Bantu who originated from Cameroon Highlands, migrated into Uganda and settled in the Interlacustrine Region we have the Baganda,Basoga,Basoga,Banyoro, Bakiga etc.

All these tribes have different cultural activities.These are Wedding ceremonies, Coronation and Circumcision etc

MARRIAGE IN BUGANDA AND BUSOGA REGION

There are some ceremonies that have to be done before a couple gets married. It is common all around the world for a couple to do some ceremonies before marriage.

For today we shall be looking at the BUGANDA and BUSOGA REGION

This is a ceremony where the husband to be visits the wife to be’s aunt with gifts
